Mofolusade’s passion was born out of the need to be present for her young son at the time, without losing herself. She left her job with a manufacturing conglomerate in Nigeria to launch a gift consulting business. By her 4th year, she was overwhelmed and nearly crumbling under the challenges of entrepreneurship.
This led her to launch a blog sharing her experience with joggling motherhood while building a business tagged Mumpreneur. This led her to a whole new path with unexpected twists and turns. She realised there were also a lot of other mothers out there struggling with this transition and looking for a safe community to get support, clarity, and growth. It’s started as an informal group but quickly grew into a thriving community known as the league of kickassmums – mothers that get things done!
Today, the social enterprise has its major activities in training programs, trade access fairs and advocacy through movies. Nnena Fakoya-Smith – Nnnena worked as an Executive Administrator in the oil and gas sector for over 8 years.
However, she got to a point where she carved to have her own business so that she could spend more time with her young family.
With her love for travel and tourism, Nnenna carved a path for herself as a Tourism Promoter. Over the past 5 years, she has been nominated and recognised as a thought leader in the Nigerian and African Tourism space.
Juggling motherhood as a Mompreneur who works mostly from home hasn’t been easy. But the joy of being present for her family and balancing it with building a brand in an industry she loves has been very rewarding.
