For a long time, Momart40 has existed in a space that Nigeria’s legal system does not yet recognise; the space of the social enterprise.

We are not alone in this. Across Nigeria, many purpose-led organisations are operating in a way that combines business and social change. Yet legally, the country offers only two clear paths: profit-driven businesses or non-profit charities. There is no formal framework that acknowledges organisations built to do both.

This reality shaped how Momaat4ty was built, and eventually, why we had to evolve.

The Challenge We Faced

Momay4ty began as an advocacy-driven platform supporting African women, mothers, and families, particularly older mothers navigating structural, cultural, emotional, and economic barriers. Alongside this advocacy work, we ran a creative agency that helped brands communicate better, grow sustainably, and tell more meaningful stories.

In theory, this made sense.
In practice, it created confusion.

Clients were unsure whether Momat4ty was:

  • a charity
  • a business
  • or something in between

Potential partners hesitated. Some expected free services because of our advocacy work. Others questioned our credibility as a business because of our social mission.

This confusion wasn’t about our values; it was about structure.

And structure matters.

Why Separation Became Necessary

To protect the integrity of both our advocacy and our business, we made a clear decision:

Momat4ty will now focus solely on advocacy, research, and social impact.
Our creative agency will operate independently under a new name and identity: Spill-it Creative.

This separation is not a disconnection.
It is a clarification.

Each entity now has:

  • its own purpose
  • its own audience
  • its own measurable outcomes

And yet, they remain intentionally linked.

Introducing Spillit Creative

Spillit Creative is our bold, independent creative agency built to deliver value without dilution.

The name Spill -it comes from a simple idea, a phrase:
When you dish it out, you don’t hold back.

Meaning: “spill it” is a common English idiom and slang phrase used to command someone to reveal a secret, confession, or hidden information immediately. It is often used informally when someone is hesitant to talk, implying “tell me the truth” or “spill the beans” www.hinative.com

At Spillit Creative, we:

  • spill ideas boldly
  • deliver value fully
  • take clear, confident stances for the brands we serve

There is no half-measure creativity here.

What the Brand Represents

Red
Red is courage. It reflects bold thinking, decisive action, and creative confidence. We are not afraid to challenge norms or take strong positions for our clients.

White
White represents clarity, honesty, and structure. In a noisy digital world, we help brands communicate clearly and intentionally.

Yellow (Supporting)
Yellow symbolises insight, optimism, and originality. It reflects curiosity, innovation, and the spark that drives out-of-the-box thinking.

Together, these colours tell the story of a brand that is brave, clear, and intelligently creative.

The Logo: Simplicity With Voice

Spillit Creative’s logo is a speech bubble — playful, intentional, and powerful.

It represents:

  • communication
  • storytelling
  • dialogue
  • ideas that deserve to be heard

The playful typography reflects our belief that creativity does not need to be complicated to be effective. Value is created when ideas are communicated clearly and confidently.

How the Advocacy Still Lives On

Although Momat4ty and Spillit Creative now operate as separate entities, their relationship remains purposeful.

A percentage of Spillit Creative’s revenue directly funds Momat4ty’s advocacy work — supporting research, community conversations, and policy-focused initiatives aimed at improving the lives of women and families.

More importantly, this structure strengthens our long-term goal:
👉🏾 advocating for a formal social enterprise policy in Nigeria

By clearly separating business and advocacy, while transparently linking impact, we are modelling what social enterprise could look like if the right legal framework existed.

Clarity Is Not Compromise

This decision was not about stepping away from purpose.
It was about protecting it.

With this new structure:

  • Momat4ty can focus fully on advocacy and impact
  • Spillit Creative can operate with clarity as a business
  • Clients know exactly who they are working with
  • Supporters understand exactly what they are supporting

This is not an ending.
It is a more sustainable beginning.
