Most mothers think all a child needs are shoes, clothes, food and toys which we call the basic need of a child but have we heard of a saying that says” ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES JACK A DULL BOY”. Yes, I guess, this saying doesn’t apply to adult alone but also to children even toddlers.

Play is an essential part of a child’s physical and mental development. Children between ages 1-3 years always absorb new things, they are eager to learn and will try almost anything and will keep trying till they get it right.

Play is more than just a chance to have fun; play is a serious business when it comes to a child’s health and development. It enriches their brain, body and soul in important ways.  Play allows a child to use his or her creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, physical, cognitive and emotional strength.

It’s through play that children at an early age engage and interact in the world around them. And most times, these activities they learn grow with them and form a major part of who they will become.

This is why it is important to encourage them to play and also play with them. There are various games you can engage your toddlers in, games that you get to play along with them because this process doesn’t only help the children but also creates a wonderful and beautiful bond between you and your toddler.
