Keeping Body And Mind Healthy During Covid 19
There is no doubting the fact that being a mom is a full-time job, especially now that we must be home with the COVID-19 lockdown measure.
But while at it, remember that the business of being a mom is not for the faint-hearted, and self-care is where the secret of your ‘power-mom’ strength lies. Therefore, now is the time to stock up on self-care tips to keep you going for as long as you need to. So here, I have a list of fun ideas for practising self-care. You could schedule this daily and carry out one or two of them.
Go for a walk, Clean and reorganize your room, Dance, and Take a bath.
When you need to clear your head, dance to your favourite music of all time, let your body feel the rhythm. If you aren’t so much of a dance person, do some exercise. Take a walk around the compound for a few minutes and stretch your legs. You can try walking with your baby – pushing or carrying her for some fresh April air.
Reorganizing your room also gives a sense of accomplishment and helps to declutter your space.
Read a book, Listen to podcasts, Do a DIY project, Meditation.
You cannot pour from an empty cup. This implies that you cannot give what you do not have. “There’s never an idle time in a mom’s calendar,” yea I know, but you should give yourself a break some times. It is okay to read a book while your baby is asleep or while she’s distracted with toys. Podcasts are also a great way of taking care of your mental health, I resort to podcasts because I can multitask while listening to them. You can download Google podcasts. There are tons of podcasts on children and family for you.
Meditation, Chitchat a friend, Journaling, Write down a list of things you’re grateful for.
Meditation music is great for de-stressing. It is good for both your body and soul. It refreshes you from inside out and helps you relax. You can find meditation music on YouTube for relaxing. Make out time to do this before anyone wakes up or while your baby is napping.
Journaling is great for keeping memories and thoughts.
All of this helps you to be a great mom, keeps you sane, lol and increases your self-awareness.
