Stay Fit and Positive for a healthy you, pregnancy and baby
Your 40s is the best time to start developing healthy habits and staying fit is the perfect way to start especially if you are planning to have a baby.
There are so many things you can do to get in shape and improve your health while preparing yourself for pregnancy without overwhelming yourself. Some of these things are listed below;
- Drink lots of water.
Water seems to take the back seat when coffee is available however, staying hydrated is just as important as eating a healthy diet. So ensure you drink plenty of water daily (say about 2.7litres a day), that will keep you hydrated and help you replenish lost fluids.
2. Take a walk during lunch hour.
One easy way to stay healthy as an older woman is to move more around during the day. Instead of spending your lunch break sitting and glued to your computer, take time away from technology and go on a walk. Doing this helps you get rid of stress. All it takes is a quick 15-20minutes walk which helps clear your mind.
3. Eat Right / Eat a balanced meal.
Have you heard of the saying “YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT”! Diet is just as important as exercise in healthy living. Eating healthy protein, healthy fat, a small number of carbs, fruits and veggies, do play a big role in keeping you fit. It gives you energy and helps fight diseases too.
4. Don’t compare yourself with others
One big mistake most people make is focusing on others more than themselves. Instead of wishing for your neighbours’ body, keep working on your goal to get fit. Don’t picture someone else as your driving force, just envision a better YOU
